Rwenzori turaco
A beautiful, brightly coloured bird. Native to the Albertine Rift’s montane forest.
Mountain gorilla
Just over 1 000 remain, protected in the Virunga Massif.
Uganda weather
Uganda has a pleasant tropical climate, moderated by its diverse landscapes and elevation. Thanks to its highlands, temperatures remain comfortable despite being an equatorial country. Kampala’s daily temperatures range from 16°C to 28°C, with minimal variation throughout the year. The south-western highlands, including Bwindi and Mgahinga, tend to be cooler than the lower-lying regions in the north and east.
